Flow Like A River
Original calligraphy by Zen monk and artist Peter Cutler.
This is the Japanese kanji for river, just three vertical strokes. The brush painting of the river shows the dynamic flow of both the river and life, always changing, always new. When we open to this continuous flow without resisting, attaching or attempting to control, we are in alignment with life. Our life flows effortlessly like the river and we are happy. If we fight and struggle against life, we will always suffer. If we want to be happy, we should follow the good advise of the river and always flow in the direction of life.
The red chop or seal in the bottom right corner is the Dharma Name given to Peter by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. It is Chinese characters for "True Virtue".
