2,500 years ago Siddhartha Guatama sat under the leaves of a Bodhi tree and emerged as the Buddha. This painting is inspired by a leaf that is the direct descendant of the same leaves the Buddha sat under 2,500 years ago. The Bodhi leaf is an important symbol in Buddhism and Zen. It signifies enlightenment.
